Bento is a companion app for FUJIFILM X series cameras that lets you browse, create, and sync film simulation recipes, and transfer photos from your camera. This policy describes what data the app handles.
Bento has no user accounts and never asks for your name, email address, or any other personal information. It shows no ads and contains no third-party analytics or tracking.
To store your favourites and the recipes you create, the app automatically creates an anonymous identifier using Firebase Authentication (a Google service). Your favourites and your own recipes are stored in Google Cloud Firestore under that anonymous identifier, in encrypted transit. This identifier is random, is not linked to you as a person, and is lost when you uninstall the app — along with access to the data stored under it. Photos and RAW files transferred from your camera, and sample images generated with your camera, are stored only on your phone. They are never uploaded anywhere. All communication with the camera happens directly between your phone and the camera over Bluetooth, the camera's own local Wi-Fi network, or a USB cable — none of it passes through external servers.
The app requests Bluetooth and location permissions solely to discover and connect to your camera (location is an Android requirement for Bluetooth scanning — the app does not read or store your location), and USB access to sync recipes.
Uninstalling the app abandons your anonymous identifier and the data stored under it. To request deletion of that data from our servers, contact us with your request.
